Directed by Saeed Jafarian, Iranian short ‘Umbra’ has been selected to compete at the Brussels Short Film Festival in Belgium.
‘Umbra’ is about a young woman who realizes a few minutes after midnight that she is alone. Worried, she goes out in the darkness of the streets.
A summary of the film reads “Saman has disappeared and Saba goes out into the darkness to find him.”
The short has participated at almost 30 global events, including the Cinéfondation section of the 71st Cannes Film Festival, the 2018 Vila do Conde film festival in Portugal, the 17th Silhouette Film Festival in France, the 42nd Toronto International Short Film Festival in Canada, the 2018 Batumi International Art House Film Festival in Georgia, the 37th Uppsala International Short Film Festival in Sweden, and the 14th MEDFILM Festival in Italy.
The Brussels Short Film Festival is an exhibition intended for lovers of cinema, both audience and professionals. The purpose is to promote and circulate short films and to generate contacts between audience, young directors and professionals.
The festival is slated for April 25-May 05, 2019, in Brussels, Belgium.
